The Zoom XAH-8 is an adjustable stereo microphone capsule designed for use with your Zoom H8 Handy recorder. With two rotatable condenser microphones, the XAH-8 allows customizable stereo width via a tight X/Y pattern or a wide AB pattern. The XAH-8’s Zoom mic capsule connection lets you quickly swap capsules on your H8 recorder without tools or tedious installation.
X/Y format
Record specific sound sources at near to medium distance with natural three-dimensional depth and width.
This format is optimal for recording solo performances, chamber music, live rehearsals, field recordings and similar subjects.
A-B format
Record ambient sound along with specific sound sources for a wide stereo feel.
This format is optimal for recording the reverb of a hall, as well as for meetings or similar situations.
